The Japanese love eating fresh fish, but the water close to Japan had a dearth of fishes. So the Japanese started using bigger boats to go further & they took more time to return back and by that time the fish turned stale & so the Japanese did not like the taste of stale fish.
So they installed freezers to solve the problem but there was a difference in the taste of a fresh and a frozen fish. The frozen fish fetched them at a lesser price.
Now, they installed fish tanks and used them to stuff the fish they caught in that water tank, fin to fin. Fishes after some time stopped moving around and although they were alive but were dull & sluggish. Japanese could easily differentiate between the taste of the lively fish vs. the sluggish ones.
It was posing a big trade challenge so they thought of a novel solution. They started adding a small shark to each fish tank, the shark ate a few fish but others were challenged & hence constantly on the move.
Now, the fishes were active & healthy as challenged by the shark, commanded a higher price due to the fresh taste
Humans are the same.
We must have challenges in our lives to keep us alive. Conquering those challenges steadily keeps us energized.
Put a Shark in your tank to see how far you can really go!
